Why categorizing plans

To help organize different sorts of planning in TaskControl, Categories are used to label the plans.

Categories have no functions affecting plan behavior. Their purpose is mainly for sorting and easy finding target plans in lists.



Typical Categories can be:

  • General projects
  • Program MakeOurCompanyGreatAgain
  • Office Relocations
  • Building Constructions
  • SW Cutovers
  • BCP and DR tests
  • Software Release Management
  • Manufacturing Product XY
  • HR Processes
  • etc.



Categories help sorting plans and templates and can be used for filtering long lists of plans.
